Welcome to the 2008 Virtual Holistic Health Summit

Focus of the Summit

The focus of this “virtual” summit is education by providing high quality content on a variety of topics pertaining to lifestyle, health, nutrition and wellness.

There is a ton of information out there – on the internet, in magazines, on the television. Some of it good, some of it bad, and most of it confusing. We are hoping to offer a convenient way for you to learn about a variety of interesting, yet different topics. The goal is “total body” wellness. Our hope is through this “Summit” and the information provided you will be able to:


Each topic will be presented on a different day and time via teleconference format. You will have the ability to either dial-into each presenter’s specific call, or listen to the call via the internet. When you register, these details will be provided to you via e-mail. E-Mail reminders will be sent before each and every call. You will also have the ability to submit questions to be answered by each speaker, either after their presentation, or via e-mail. These details will appear in the e-mail you will receive after registering.

Logistics

Each topic will be presented on a different day and time via phone. You will have the ability to either dial-into each presenter's specific call (long distance charges may apply), or listen to the call for FREE via the internet. When you register, these details will be provided to you via e-mail. These calls will begin June 23rd and the last call will take place on July 7th. All sessions have been slated for the evening (Eastern Standard Time) for your convenience.

E-Mail reminders will be sent before each and every call. These e-mails will contain the topic for the call, the call time and the number to dial and the pass code. You will also have a link that will take you to a separate web page where you will also have the ability to submit questions to be answered by each speaker at the end of their call during the Q & A session. Nutrition Coach / Online Entrepreneur
Topic: "Digestive Wellness - Dealing with GERD / Acid Reflux"

Lisa's coaching practice is based on making informed decisions about food and nutrition for lasting health. In addition to her coaching practice, Lisa teaches cooking classes, as well as corporate cooking demos at health fairs for companies who are focusing on wellness. Lisa is also a business coach for holistic practitioners who are looking to create an online presence for their practice and is the author of "Holistic Teleseminars Made Easy" - a step-by-step guide for producing virtual events.

Topic: "Why Should I Care?!: Teaching Effective Wellness Programs For Kids"

My business offers a whole-foods based food and wellness curriculum, staff training, and program support consulting. The program content provides children's organizations with tools, techniques, and guidance for implementing effective wellness programs for young people. This program was born of frustration of with my first-hand experience from inside the food industry and main-stream food guidance organizations. It was born of my passion for wellness access for all, including young people. With the poor state of childhood obesity, unhealthy attitudes toward food, and the most heavily processed chemicalized food being fed to children, I know I must share this content with as many people as I can.

Holistic Health Counselor "Integrating Nutrition and Lifestyle Support"
Topic: "Dairy Does a Body Good, Or Does It?"

James Duignam is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition which is affiliated with Columbia University Teachers College. His business motto for Hippocratic Healing, "connecting with the inner healer", personifies the Hippocratic approach to health and wellness; realizing, that given half a chance and the right environment, our health returns as new flowers in the spring.

Eileen Guilfoyle, RN, BSN, HHC

Integrative Health Counselor
Topic: "Bone Health and Osteoporosis"

Eileen has been a registered nurse for 23 years. She is a lifestyle educator, FirstLine Therapy certified through Metagenics (a nutraceuticals company). Eileen is also a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a childbirth educator. Her specialty is women's health with a focus on pregnancy.

Beverly Jeffries, HHC

Topic: "How to Cleanse, Nourish and Balance your body with Amazon Herbs"

Beverly's business, Savor Your Health, seeks to educate, encourage and support people in their journey to achieve and maintain a healthy vibrant life. Beverly educates her clients to stick to a healthy lifestyle and incorporates the rain forest herbs from the Amazon Herb Co. to cleanse, nourish and balance the body. While nourishing our bodies with the wild food/herbs from the rain forest, we are also committed to a positive sustainable future for the rain forest and all its inhabitants. Beverly also incorporates therapeutic essential oils in helping to bring balance to the body. In addition to having an certification as a Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, she has also completed a 12-week nutritional course at Dian's Center for Health, Morristown, NJ, in preparation to take the Certification exam offered by the American Association of Nutritional Consultants (AANC).

Topic: "Creating Balance while Conceiving Life"

Louise is a Life and Business Coach, who enjoys working with and coaching women who are facing the challenges of infertility - either one-on-one, in groups or via teleclasses. During her interview you will hear all about her own personal journey with infertility. She also shares information during her radio show (www.blogtalkradio.com/KeystoClarity-coach) and her blog. She is a a professional member of RESOLVE (http://www.resolve.org/) and a member of the ICF. Louise graduated from University in South Africa with a Bachelor of Arts, and is also a Coach U graduate. She has lived in Durban, South Africa, London (Wimbledon), England, and now in Atlantic Highlands, NJ! She brings her unique perspective to her clients based all over the US, Canada, and Europe. In addition to this specialty, Louise is also a Small Business Coach to Life Coaches, and Holistic Practitioners, particularly those who support women on the fertility journey.

Meg Richichi, M.S., L.Ac.

The Awakening of the Divine Feminine
Topic: "The Birthing of Divine Self"

As a therapeutic lifestyle consultant and board-certified acupuncturist,
Meg Richichi blends Eastern and Western modalities in her Manhattan office. Meg's extensive studies and experience over the last 13 years includes training at a leading hospital in Vietnam, herbalogy and shamanic healing practices in the Brazilian Rain Forest as well as training in holistic-functional medicine in the U.S. Meg focuses on women's hormonal issues, specializing in infertility. She believes the birthing of child is a metaphor for a great unfolding- the birthing of "Divine-Self" via awakening the Divine Feminine. Meg perceives our internal world as the mother within us, creating everything in our lives-"the sacred living child". Ultimately, what we bring forth into our world gives birth to who we are each day. And, how we nurture our soul nurtures our wellness. Meg is committed to assisting women through her work as a health practitioner, lecturer and workshop facilitator.

Angela Mason, CHC, CLYL

Topic: "Laughter Yoga as a Health Benefit"

Angela is aboard certified health counselor, laughter yoga leader and founder of HLS Health Counseling and Laughter Gas, oops! excuse me! Healthier Living with a Smile! She graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is affiliated with Columbia University Teacher's College in New York City and certified by the Dr. Kataria School of Laughter Yoga. HLS is an integrative health counseling service and laughter yoga practice which supports and encourages step-by-step lifestyle changes through better nutrition, stress management and FUN!

Who We Are

We are a collective of concerned individuals who would like to share our knowledge with you in the hope it will allow you to effectuate change and transformation, in both your lives and the lives of your families. Our approach is a holistic one. We have learned through our own journeys, as people improve their health, they become empowered to create positive change in their lives.

Lastly, we all feel that “giving back” is just as important as educating you on health, nutrition and lifestyle. To that end, we are happy to announce that a portion of the proceeds for this event will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
